You can delete your Tutoryum account at any time. This page explains how, what happens to your data afterwards, and how to reach us if you need help.
1. Delete inside the mobile app
The fastest way to delete your Tutoryum account is from inside the app itself:
1. Open the Tutoryum app on iOS or Android.
2. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
3. Re-enter your password when prompted (this protects against accidental deletion by someone else using your unlocked device).
4. Confirm the request.
Once submitted, the app signs you out and your account enters the deletion pipeline described in Section 3 below.
2. Delete by email (if you can no longer sign in)
If you cannot open the app or cannot sign in — for example because you have already uninstalled it, or you have lost access to the email address associated with your account — send a written deletion request to the contact address listed below.
For your protection we may ask for information that lets us confirm you are the account holder before we process the request. This can include the email address originally associated with the account, the phone number if any, the approximate date the account was created, and any other identifying information we can verify against our records.
3. What is deleted, and when
When your deletion request is submitted, your account is deactivated immediately: your profile is removed from Tutoryum discovery surfaces and other users can no longer message or discover you.
The following data is removed from live systems shortly afterwards:
- your account, sign-in credentials, and profile fields;
- your listings and any listing images;
- your uploaded verification documents (identity documents, certificates, diplomas);
- your appointment records;
- your message history within Tutoryum's messaging system.
4. What may be retained, and why
Certain data may be retained after account deletion for a limited period, only where a specific legal or operational necessity applies:
- server backups may still contain your data for a limited retention window before they are overwritten in the normal backup rotation;
- billing, invoice, tax and accounting records may be retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law;
- records necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, safety incidents, or to defend legal claims may be retained for the period reasonably necessary for those purposes;
- anonymised or aggregated data that no longer identifies you may be retained indefinitely for statistical purposes.
5. Subscription and payment considerations
Deleting your Tutoryum account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Subscriptions are billed through Apple, Google, or Paddle and must be cancelled in the account of whichever channel processed the purchase — the Apple App Store (Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions), Google Play (play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions), or the Paddle customer portal (paddle.net for web subscriptions).
If you delete your Tutoryum account while a subscription is still active, the subscription may continue to bill you at the channel level until you cancel it there. Refund decisions for App Store and Google Play purchases are made by Apple and Google respectively.
6. If you change your mind
After the deletion request is submitted, there is a short reversal window during which you can contact the contact address listed below from the original account email address to ask us to stop the deletion. Once the deletion has been fully processed against our live systems, it cannot be reversed.
